Why Carry a PLB?
There are countless stories circulating about ordinary people caught in extraordinary circumstances outdoors; Pilots making routine flights that suddenly discover they have to ditch in an area miles from the nearest town; People taking hikes that should have only lasted a few hours but end up fighting for their lives for days while rescuers search wide areas looking for them. No matter if you are flying over isolated terrain, hiking in the backcountry, camping in that great spot or simply going on a day trip, a PLB can ensure that you help finds you when you need it. By broadcasting your location to satellites in orbit and then on to rescue agencies, a PLB gives vital information about you when time is of the essence.
Tells Rescuers Where and Who You Are
The SARLink broadcasts a unique registered distress signal that not only tells rescuers where you are, but who you are. The onboard GPS can fix your position to within 100 meters and then utilizes a powerful 406 MHz signal to relay your distress call to orbiting SAR satellites. As local Search and Rescue is deployed, a separate homing signal and integrated LED strobe light guide rescuers to your location.
Integrated Digital Display
The SARLink View takes PLB technology one step further with its breakthrough digital display. In an emergency, the high-visibility screen provides automatic prompts for optimizing the beacon and confirms critical data such as your exact GPS coordinates, data bursts and remaining battery power. Additional functionality allows the user to test and view GPS coordinates multiple times with minimal impact on useful battery life.
Quality You Can Rely On
When you are stranded and needing help, you can trust that the ACR SARLINK View won't let you down. Made in the USA using high efficiency electronics and high quality design, the SARLINK View is made to provide years of safe traveling in remote areas.
The SARLink View’s digital display provides a measure of calm in an emergency — displaying critical data so that you know the beacon is working to summon help.
Important Information About PLB Use Outside the US
All 406 EPIRBs and PLBs sold in the USA are default programmed and serial coded for registration with NOAA in the USA. Those shipped internationally must be registered in the country of residence, *with the exception of U.S. citizens living overseas.* They have the choice of registering with NOAA/USA or in their country of residence. It is cautioned that the beacon should be registered in the country where the emergency contact numbers for the beacon are located to avoid possible language barrier issues in the event of an emergency situation. *All 406 MHz EPIRBs and PLBs sold by AeroMedix.com for registration in a country other than the U.S.A. can be programmed and serial coded for the intended country of registration as a "Special Order" and once programmed become non-returnable.*
