Nonin 9500 Onyx Fingertip Pulse Oximeter

"There are less expensive pulse oximeters out there but NONE are as accurate as the Nonin brand, period. I use the Nonin Pulse Oximeters in my medical practice exclusively and wouldn't even think of using another brand." --- Dr. Brent Blue
In-flight hypoxia is too great a risk to take chances with cheap equipment. The Nonin 9500 is certified by both the U.S. Army and the U.S. Air Force for military airworthiness and has been tested for durability and accuracy under a variety of conditions. The 9500 is small and lightweight enough to carry in a pocket and gives you a reading on your oxygen saturation rate within just a few seconds. The bright LED display can be easily and clearly read day or night.

As a licensed pharmacy, AeroMedix is able to offer the prescription-only Nonin 9500 to you. No need to visit your doctor, we can write the prescription for you the same day you order!

Still the Best - Since 1995

"The 9500 is the smallest and easiest unit to use for spot monitoring of oxygen levels. It is fully automatic, user-friendly and extremely accurate. The unit is powered by two ordinary AAA batteries and has a great instant-on feature: insert your finger and it turns on automatically. Remove your finger and it turns itself off." --- Dr. Brent Blue
The Nonin 9500 Onyx pulse oximeter was the first pulse oximeter on the market to combine the electronics and sensors into a self-contained fingertip unit. Since 1995, hundreds of thousands of people trust the Nonin Onyx to provide them with accurate, reliable pulse oximetry data. The Nonin 9500 continues to be widely used by hospitals, clinics, EMT's, First Responders and the U.S. Military. Pilots, outdoorsmen and mountaineers also trust the durability of the Nonin 9500 during flight, climbing or other outdoor activities.

Take Nonin Quality Up With You
With in-flight hypoxia such a great risk for pilots, the Nonin 9500 Onyx makes an ideal tool in the cockpit. The small size and durability mean years of reliable use and the accurate readings will help you take the guesswork out of setting your oxygen flow rates. By using the Nonin 9500 during flight at higher altitudes, you can quickly know if you need to increase the amount of oxygen you are taking in, letting you avoid the potentially fatal effects of hypoxia in the air. The 9500 is also energy efficient, providing up to 1600 spot-checks on two standard AAA batteries. Nonin backs up their product with a 2 year manufacturer warranty.

Tested by the Military for Airworthiness
Both the Nonin 9500 and 9550 have been tested by the U.S. Army and Air Force for airworthiness and are the only fingertip oximeters approved for use aboard U.S. military aircraft. To achieve this, the 9500 and 9550 were subjected to a battery of environmental and performance tests. The 9500 and 9550 successfully maintained performance and accuracy under these demanding environmental conditions. These tests included:

  • Altitude - must operate in non-pressurized environments at high altitudes (up to 40,000 feet AGL)
  • Electrical Safety - ensure patient safety in harsh environments
  • Vibration - must operate during extreme vibrations conditions such as those found in helicopters
  • Electromagnetic Interference - must operate through interference from radio and radar transmitters
  • Climate - must operate in extreme hot, cold and humid conditions
  • Rapid Decompression - must continue to operate during immediate decompression at 40,000 feet without damage
  • Explosive Atmosphere - must operate safely in an environment of explosive vapors without igniting
  • General Flight - must pass in-flight performance testing in military aircraft
