Despite it's sub $100 price tag, the Respironics GO2 is a high-quality pulse oximeter. It is durably made to stand up to abuse and is very low maintenance. It's small size means the unit is easy to carry with you almost anywhere, and fits easily in a shirt or pants pocket. The backlit LCD screen is easy to read in many light conditions and is "patient oriented" to make reading uncomplicated while taking a reading. This isn't like the drug-store pulse oximeters, it's made to last.

Fast and Efficient
Being able to quickly assess your oxygen needs while flying is critical. The Respironics GO2 will automatically sense your finger when you insert it into the sensor clip and will turn itself on. Within seconds, you will get an accurate reading of your pulse rate and oxygen saturation. Remove your finger, and the unit will turn itself off; it's that easy. Running on a single AAA battery, the Respironics GO2 will provide up to 2,400 spot checks before needing to replace the battery. The unit is completely self-contained, there are no wires, no parts, no hassle. Simply put your finger into the sensor clip and you will get fast, accurate readings.

Useful in Other Situations As Well
While we tout the usefulness of the Respironics GO2 in the cockpit, the same unit is helpful in other places as well. Mountaineers use pulse oximeters while training and climbing high peaks. Need Something More Robust?
The Respironics GO2 is ideal for many situations, but sometimes there's a need for a tougher pulse oximeter. If you are regularly flying at high altitudes, are frequently using supplemental oxygen, and/or are involved in high-intensity flying environments such as SAR or fire-fighting operations, we highly recommend the Nonin 9500 or 9550 over the Respironics GO2. These Nonin units have been certified as air-worthy by the US Military and have undergone a number of strenuous tests to ensure accuracy and function under the most demanding conditions.
