Bluetooth-Enabled Fingertip Pulse Oximeter (Onyx II 9560)
Nonin Medical continues it's tradition of providing cutting-edge medical devices with the Onyx II 9560. With included Bluetooth® connectivity, the 9560 makes remote wireless monitoring possible in a compact, fingertip pulse oximeter.
Due to COVID-19 priorities, Nonin products are on BACKORDER at this time.
Remote Management for patients with COPD, Congestive Heart Failure, Asthma and other cardio-pulmonary diseases is becoming more prevalent each year. Rising health care costs coupled with strained health care facilities make remotely monitoring a patient's vital signs an intriguing and efficient way to help manage these conditions. The Nonin Onyx II 9560 makes this available to clinics and patients by combining Nonin Medical's dependable and accurate fingertip pulse oximetry hardware and Bluetooth® wireless technology.
Collects and Passes Data - Without Being Tied Down
The Nonin Onyx II 9560 offers the same highly accurate readings and durable construction of the 9550 or 9500, but is well suited for remote monitoring situations by adding the ability to pass important pulse oximetry stats to a computer or other devices without wires or cables. This information is especially helpful for those under close clinical supervision, but who do not necessarily need continuous monitoring. Doctors and clinic personnel can view the patient's statistics over a computer, giving the patient freedom to go where they would like but keeping medical teams informed. The 9560 has an extended wireless range of up to 100 meters so staying in the same room as the base unit isn't necessary. Nonin also designed the 9560 with an innovative "Store & Forward" memory which means you aren't restricted to stay within the range of the base unit at all. Take a walk, go for a drive, and, when you come back in range, the 9560 will forward up to 20 spot-check readings that were taken while you were away.
"Patient Proof" and Efficient
The Nonin 9560 boasts the same unmatched durability and reliability as the other Onyx series pulse oximeters have. The 9560 is made to take a beating, and still provide you with accurate readings day after day. The built-in Power Saver™ feature automatically adjusts the transmission power of the 9560 based on how far away from the base unit you are. This means that the 9560 uses it's batteries more efficiently and allows for about 600 spot-checks on 2 standard AAA batteries. Nonin's SmartPoint™ technology helps take the guesswork out of analyzing pulse oximetry values by automatically determining when a high quality measurement is ready to be transmitted while at the same time providing a quality indicator for every measurement taken.
Connects to a Variety of Devices and Platforms - Including Microsoft® HealthVault®
The Nonin 9560 makes sharing your pulse oximetry statistics easy with it's wireless capabilities. By using Bluetooth® wireless, the 9560 can provide a secure data connection to a wide selection of devices and software. More importantly, the 9560 is designed to meet the requirements of the emerging Bluetooth Medical Device Profile (MDP), IEEE11073 and Continua compliances. The Onyx II 9560 also works with commercial integration solutions like:
- Aerotel Medical Systems
- TeleMedic Systems
The Nonin Onyx II 9560 is also compatible with Microsoft's HealthVault®, a free online platform designed to help you manage your personal health and share information with doctors and families. For more information about this service, visit the HealthVault® site at www.healthvault.com.
Even Works with SmartPhones
The Nonin Onyx II 9560 is also compatible with smartphones running the Android operating system. SimpleEye has developed a useful, inexpensive Android App called Bluetooth Pulse Oximeter that will connect with the Nonin 9560 so that you can track, monitor and sync your pulse oximeter measurements to various health services.
Great for the Clinic and the Home
The bottom line is that the 9560 is a great solution for anyone who wants a clinical-grade pulse oximeter with the added benefit of being able to easily share, store and analyze their pulse oximetry statistics quickly and easily. For medical staff, the Onyx II 9560 can provide your patients with mobility and freedom while at the same time keeping you informed about their vital statistics without needing them to be physically present. For home therapy patients, the 9560 can provide you with mobility and freedom and still make it easy for you to store your statistics in services like Microsoft HealthVault and Google Health where you can share them with caregivers and family. The Onyx II 9560 provides you with the best in pulse oximetry and modern technology.
Need Continuous Monitoring?
While the Onyx II 9560 provides a greater level of service than the 9500 or 9550 and is well suited for situations where remote monitoring or pulse oximeter statistic sharing is needed, the 9560 is not a good choice where continuous monitoring is required, nor does the 9560 have any alarm capabilities. If continuous monitoring and/or an alarm is a need, we recommend the WristOx 3150, PalmSAT 2500, or the 7500 Tabletop Pulse Oximeter. As always, if you have any questions, don't hesitate to call us at 1-866-800-0422.
